Session 6: Watchers in the Shadows

 

The party arises and prepares to face the mighty dragon, but to their great surprise Venomfang has already left the area, and all that remains is a mysterious note bearing the symbol of the shadowy organization known as the Zhentarim. Confused, but relieved, the party returns to Reidoth, hoping that he will hold up his end of the deal now that the dragon is gone.

True to his word, Reidoth gives the party directions to Cragmaw Castle, and they set out that very day. Through detailed scouting, the group manages to find a hidden entrance that leads almost directly to the chambers of King Grol. There is a brief, but frenzied, combat in the enclosed corridors of the castle before King Grol and his minions are defeated. Confined within King Grol's chambers is their lost companion, Gundren Rockseeker! Who knows what stories and information this stout dwarf will have for the party once he wakes up......
